Multi linguistic, European identity and cultural discovery have been three axes of the project of French-Swedish exchanges. The project has focused on sustainable development and the European identity. The French pupils have received an initiation in the Swedish language and their partners in the Breton language. DVD language films have been made by both the French/Breton pupils and the Swedish.
The tales have been the common denominator. The pupils have made their own tales which have been exchanged, read and translated, resulting in a shadow theatre, a DVD-film, a drama, different performances, work-shops and language studies. The pupils from the two countries have experienced a spectacle of dance and an animated evening with professional storytellers from Guingamp,as well as a concert in Karlskoga, folk-rock music and a visit to the famous author Selma Lagerlöf´s home at Mårbacka, Värmland.
The pupils have made researches on new energies in the two countries and comparisons have been made. The pupils have observed and compared the different lifestyles and drawn conclusions about the European identity, through participating in work-shops, discussions and given lectures .
Reflections have been made on the European Union, the regional policies and the languages. The pupils have read the famous speech, "I have a dream", and tried to apply these thoughts to the concept of the European Union.
An exchange have been made by the countries involved, Sweden and France. In between the exchange periods the pupils have worked with their language preparations, theatres, energy sources, writing tales etc.
